I was living in
Wimbeley, Texas where I owned and
operated an organic café.
One of my good customers asked me
to cater a Course In Miracles
retreat she was organizing. It
was being held at the Unity
Church. I had heard about the
Course for many years, but had
not ever got into it, though I
had been on a spiritual journey
since the early 70's.
I did
not participate much in the
conference since I was in the
kitchen most of the time. I met a
man, David Hoffmeister, during
the conference. I did not speak
much with him, but observed a
particular sense of wonderment in
how he carried himself, and how
he interacted with others at the
conference. I was inspired by
this experience to check out A
Course In Miracles. At first I
borrowed a copy from the lending
library at the church. After
about a week of absorbing its
content, I purchased a copy of my
own.
I had
taken a long road to get to where
I was in my spiritual evolution,
(though it was perfect), but what
I was reading was a culmination
of the things Spirit had been
teaching me for the last 20+
years. I decided to make a
commitment to read one section in
the text and do one lesson a day
for the first year. I also
decided that even if I did not
"get" it, I would follow this
plan to the best of my ability. I
have been through this process
several times and each time I
read and underline things I know
I read the other times, but did
not "see" or "hear" them.
In March
of 2009, my wife and I released
most of our possessions and went
on an adventure to Costa Rica.
Carla was given the word,
"Everything will
be provided as you have a
need." We miraculously
found ourselves in the Las Tumbas
Valley and connected with an ACIM
group. Having join David
Hoffmeister's yahoo group, one
morning I was inspired to invite
him to Costa Rica. He was willing
as Spirit guided. Then I got an
inspiration to ask my friend in
Wimberley to collaborate with me
in organizing an ACIM conference
here. Although she was not guided
to join me, she is my mentor and
great friend.
I read
in the text, in Chapter 31:
"Choose once again
if you would take your place
among the saviors of the world,
or would remain in hell, and hold
your brothers
there." I have made my
choice. I have invited some
fellow saviors of the world to
join me in Costa Rica, and they
have made a choice to join me in
Purpose: Bringing the Light of
God's Love to Central America and
introduce the Spiritual Community
to this Peaceful Country.
